Prospective Doctoral Students
If you are interested in pursuing a Doctoral (PhD) Program in Economics at UFU you must have a bachelor´s or associate degree in any field of study. PPGE’s main area of study is Economic Development and prospective Doctoral students must choose between one of the two research areas: i) Applied Economics; ii) Public Policies and Economic Development.
Students enrolled in PPGE’s Doctoral Program are expected to spend the equivalent of at least two years, and at most four years, in full-time study. Prospective Doctoral International Students may contact the Graduate in Economics office (E-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org) for further information on the admission process. The minimum course requirements are 101 credits, of which:
- 12 credits in compulsory subjects;
- 36 credits in optional subjects;
- 2 credits in Foreign Language Proficiency;
- 3 credits in a Qualifying Exam;
- 48 credits in Doctoral (PhD) Dissertation.
Minimum time frame requirement to complete the PhD Degree: 24 months
Maximum time frame requirement to complete the PhD Degree: 48 months
